In addition to clothes, toiletries, and other things you would normally pack for a trip like this, we recommend you bring the following: passport, travel and medical insurance cards, beach bag, yoga clothes, flip flops, bathing suit, light sweaters or wraps for cooler nights, closed toe shoes or water shoes (if hiking or running), sunscreen, sun hat, water bottle, natural bug repellent, mobile charger, your special medication, a light raincoat or rain-poncho, etc.

All yoga mats and props will be available at the hotel so no need to bring if you’d rather not!

Weather is unpredictable and we make no guarantees, but according to our research, July can be a great month for Nosara weather. Although it’s the third month of Costa Rica’s seven-month rainy season, a weather phenomenon called veranillo (“little summer”) means sunny days can dominate for weeks. The average maximum daytime temperature in Nosara in July lies at 32.0°C (89.6°F) and the average minimum temperature goes down to around 22.5°C (72.5°F).

Tax and tip for all group meals, classes, and workshops are included in your registration price so no need to tip for those. Otherwise, tipping the support staff at Bodhi Tree is encouraged and appreciated. For your convenience, Bodhi Tree will add a $10 per day option onto your room charge at the end of your stay. Prior to check out, you will have the ability to accept, decline or add an additional amount. Please do not feel obligated to accept as this option is only for your convenience. This money gets divided among all staff from housekeeping to the front desk. The only groups that do not get included in this are the Juice Bar staff, Bartenders and Massage Therapists.

If you stay at the Bodhi Tree resort, money exchange won't be required.  However, the town of Nosara is nearby, which offers quaint shopping a local dining options.  Many shops accept U.S. dollars, but taxis to/from might not take U.S. dollars.  If you decide to exchange dollars, there is a legit place at baggage claim in the airport.  Historically, they offer a locked in exchange rate, if you need to reverse exchange back to dollars on the way home.

Matt & Sky are hoping that the retreat can be an immersive experience for you to reconnect to your practice, reflect inwards and bond with fellow community members. During breaks, we recommend things like enjoying the beach or pool, journaling, walking/sitting meditation or just even rest during break times. Spa treatments are also available and you can sign up online (not included in ticket price, more details here). If you’re the adventurous type and are looking for more action, the resort offers a variety of excursions that you can sign up for individually as well (more info here). Please note, to the extent you sign up for any personal excursions, it will be on your own dime and at your own risk.

This retreat is about taking care of yourself so please feel free to do what feels appropriate and best for your body, mind and spirit.

Bodhi Tree offers an array of hot and refreshing cold soups, an excellent buffet of veggies and salads, organic chicken and fish. We will also provide vegan and dairy/gluten free options. Please make sure to note any dietary restrictions you have during registration and Bodhi Tree will do its best to provide for your special meal needs. Organic wine and artisanal beer is available for purchase with your dinner separately.

Matt & Sky are working with the resort to reserve 8-passenger vans at a discounted rate.  That rate will be assigned to each guest at check-out.

The vans will meet the groups at the airport sidewalk cafe. After you claim your bags, walk through the terminal to the taxi cue.  You'll see a cafe with an awning, and outdoor seating.  Please wait there.

Matt & Sky hope this can be an immersive yoga retreat. The meditation, yoga classes, and workshops will be designed to build on each other.  The final workshop, Friday the 18th, will be reserved for those who have attended all the meditation & yoga classes.

Yes!  There are other facilities at the resort, including a gym, a pilates studio, and a stationary bike room.  The resort hosts classes, and there will be other retreats at the same time.  We are not affiliated with the other options, and if you are interested, please inquire at the front desk after arrival.

Bodhi Tree Yoga Resort has filtered water stations available throughout the property, including near the main areas such as the restaurant, juice bar, and shalas, where you can refill your bottles.
If you dine in town, we recommend bottled water.

Please join the channel so that we can connect with any trip details and schedule updates during travel & during retreat.  We will use WhatsApp to post flight info (delays), class locations, and any schedule changes.  It’s also a platform to connect with others on retreat, share inspiration & photos!

Each room is provided with a safety box at no charge.The safety box is big enough to hold a laptop. BodhiTree is not responsible for any stolen personalbelongings on the premises.

The closest beach is a 10-15 minute walk.  Bodhi Tree also offers transportation to the beach via golf carts.

Yes, Bodhi Tree offers free WiFi which is available throughout the resort property.

Yes, Bodhi Tree offers towels to use at the beach and pool.  They are available for pick-up & drop-off at the main pool by the front desk.

The voltage throughout Costa Rica is 110 - same as North America.  Travelers with assets that need 220v will need an adapter.
